Custom Ford Transit Custom Fitout: Twin Opposed Drawers, Ladder and Shovel Storage
Share
Do Lawson Automotive make custom van storage systems? Yes—and this Ford Transit Custom long wheelbase is a good example of what that can look like.
With twin sliding doors, this van combines opposed side-access drawers with a custom rear storage layout, all beneath one continuous flat deck.

Access from both sliding doors
The front section has twin opposed drawers, with one opening through each sliding door. Movable internal dividers let the customer arrange compartments around their tools, parts and equipment, then change the arrangement as their needs change.

A rear drawer with room for longer equipment
At the rear, a long single drawer sits alongside a large ladder hutch, with a separate shovel hutch on the right-hand side.
Rather than leaving long equipment loose on the top deck, the layout gives it dedicated storage underneath. The rear section meets the front drawer system to create a useful flat surface above.

Custom boxes for the customer’s grab packs
When the customer dropped off the van, he also asked about storage for his grab packs.
We made matching carpet-lined boxes to suit, ready for him to position on the top deck himself. It’s another example of tailoring the fitout around the equipment someone already uses.

Can you make storage for my business?
Yes. Alongside our established drawer systems, we can discuss custom hutches, compartments and storage layouts for different trades and applications.
Tell us your vehicle, what you carry and how you need to access it. Equipment dimensions and a few photos are a useful starting point.
